Northern Care Center is a free medical center for the Cheboygan community that is struggling for health care. The clinic see's patients on the 1st and 3 rd Tuesdays of each month on a walk in basis, Registration is from 4-6pm.  Please call to schedule an appointment at 231-333-3019.  They are located on the corner of State and Water street in Cheboygan Michigan.

Now – April 15… While you fill out your 2012 Michigan tax return forms, don’t forget to “check off” for the United Way Fund. This is a quick way for Michigan residents to use their tax returns to easily donate to the United Way Fund, which was created to help low to moderate income Michigan families with basic needs like food, clothing and shelter.

Every Weekend in April the Cheboygan Shock Cheerleaders are holding a Bake Sales /Hot Dog Sales and Bottle Drive at Walmart from 11 am- 4 pm  to help fund their trip to the U.S. Cheerleading Finals in May in Viriginia Beach ( April 6,7.13,14,20,21,27,28). They will also be taking on Raking Jobs for homes, businesses and offices please call 231-268-9828 to schedule a job...no job too big or small..... all by donation!

April 17th - Michigan Works Job Fair for Presque Isle and Cheboygan Counties.  From Noon -4pm on Cuyler Street at the Cheboygan National Armory.  This Career fair features a diverse group of businesses seeking employees - experienced workers to entry level positions and seasonal opportunities.  Look for your next job at the career fair.

Now-April 24… Tickets are on sale for the 2013 Annual Girl Scout Leadership Luncheon being held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. This year’s luncheon will honor former First Lady of Michigan, Helen Milliken and her legacy to the prestigious Mackinac Island Girl Scout Honor Guard program. Funds raised from this event go to support quality Girl Scout programs and services. Tickets for the event are $25 and include a lunch buffet. To purchase tickets call the Traverse City Girl Scout office at 947-7354. Seating is limited and RSVPs are encouraged.

April 14…24th Annual Country at Heart Arts & Craft Show 10a-4p at Mio Ausable School. Exhibitors from all over Michigan will display their crafts. Door prizes, lunch and snacks available. Funds raised will benefit Mio Football and Baseball. For more information call 989-826-2483

April 14…10th Annual Empty Bowls Event supporting the vital work of the Fresh Food Partnership will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. April 20… 2013 Run for Shelter is a 3 & 5 K race with all proceeds going to help fun the local Goodwill Inn & Shelter.  The Inn provides emergency shelter and access to donated food to homeless men, women, and families in Northern Michigan.
