Rick Coates has been a part of the media world for over 35 years and has lived in Northern Michigan for most of that time. Originally from the Lansing area and a Spartan at heart Rick is currently helping to subsidize a university in Ann Arbor.
For nine years, he served in various capacities with Omelette’s previous radio show including Producing and Co-Hosting.
Rick has written for numerous publications primarily focusing on music, food, drink, and personalities. He has hosted golf and high school sports radio shows as well as a weekly entertainment segment on TV. When not on the airwaves he is the Editor of MiBrew, a magazine about the Michigan craft beer scene.
Rick is proudly involved in numerous charitable events. He is co-founder of Father Fred Foundation Cigar Dinner, active with March of Dimes Signature Chef’s Auction and Third Level / Child & Family Services Golf Outing among others.
For several years he has been active in youth sports, serving as President of Traverse City Little League and on the boards of the Northern Michigan Youth Football League and Traverse City Junior Golf.
Rick and his wife Caroline have been married for 30 years and have two adult children. They reside in Traverse City near Omelette.
